President's Message

Hello Everyone!  I take this opportunity to thank you for allowing me to serve a second term as your National President.  As with the first, I will do my best and all that I can do to keep the Carver banner high.

I sincerely thank all who supported and attended Mr. Gilliam’s  Induction Banquet . It was a great historical event, and was well attended by Carverites, family and friends. You may view the pictures on our website.

Time for celebrating is approaching and we are getting ready. You will find a  schedule of the July 4th events. Please make the dead lines for your tickets, reservations, also your scholarship applications are in on time for your recipients. Please remember your membership dues and donations.

We are already planning ahead for our 70th Anniversary Celebration in July 2011. Pinetops Parade, Cook-out, Banquet, and Dance. Get ready to climb on board. This should be

the big one.

The N.C. Association of Black High School Alumni had the second annual event  on Nov. 27,2009.  It was a  great success, good fellowship, and well attended. Rep. G. K. Butterfield was the speaker.  He addressed the issue of the Rosenwald Schools, where we started from and where we are now. A very interested speech was enjoyed by all. Music was provided by DJ Royal. The next event is schedule for Nov. 26, 2010. Place to be announced. Save The Date. Please encourage new membership and Keep the Carver Spirit Alive!

May God Bless and Keep us

Until we meet again.

Sincerely,

Leah S. Vines, National President

Second generation Carverites. Children or grandchildren?

Our First Lady:

Mrs. Gilliam is still smiling even when some days are not so good as others; but she is blessed.  She had a wonderful 97th Birthday Party on October 22, 2009 at her home and we had a wonderful time with her.  She always says “Tell everybody I love them”.  Pictures of  her birthday celebration can be viewed on the Carver website.
